7-Week Metabolic Reset Program

You are about to embark on a journey that will dramatically improve your health through focusing on nutrition and lifestyle changes that will optimize your metabolic flexibility.

What does this mean?

Your body primarily uses two sources for fuel- sugar and fats. Ideally, you should be efficient at using both, much like a hybrid car that can switch between using electricity and gasoline. Due to an overconsumption of sugars, both complex and simple, many people have lost this metabolic flexibility and are stuck in a carbohydrate burning metabolic state. When this happens, sugar cravings intensify and kickstart a vicious cycle of blood sugar spikes and crashes that can have a major impact on our health. This can lead to unfavorable side effects that are precursors to modern diseases such as diabetes and autoimmune disorders.

    When it comes to health and wellness, food is the foundation- the first building block of living a healthy and happy life.

    This program is not a quick fix. It is designed to teach you what and how to eat so that you can make lifestyle changes, new habits and routine, and achieve metabolic flexibility.

  • FASTING

    You will learn about intermittent and block fasting, and how to shift your body into ketosis.

  • CLEANSE & DETOXIFY

    Fasting and eating clean can have an incredible impact on the body’s ability to cleanse and detoxify.

  • EXERCISE

    Adding movement into your routine. Yoga, walking, stretching, swimming, and cycling can be a great place to start.

  • RELAXATION & RHYTHMS

    Rest, meditation, and creating self care routines are important factors for optimizing metabolism and metabolic flexibility.

  • MONITORING KETONES & GLUCOSE

    Learn how to test and monitor your ketones and glucose as you become keto adapted on your road to achieving metabolic flexibility.

  • JOURNALING

    In addition to tracking your progress, it is important to note that any time you are making a shift in your regular patterns and routine, challenges may arise. This is normal. Along your journey, we will offer exercises such as journaling that will delve into discovering more about your own personal progress.

  • METABOLIC FLEXIBILITY: Momentum

    On the final week of the program, you’ll work on sustainability for keeping the momentum and implementing what you have learned to carry it into the future as your routine and lifestyle.

This program has been created by Dr. Jim Bentz and FIHC with a holistic approach. As the facilitator of Fidalgo Island Health Center’s Metabolic Reset Program, Jaclyn Schlindwein, DACM & LAc will be guiding participants along a path that uses food as medicine to heal and optimize the metabolism. While she is a licensed acupuncturist and holistic healthcare provider with a medicinal background to support the 7-week journey that participants will embark on in our program, she also offers to share her own personal experience with some of these life altering practices you will learn about and utilize.
